About Strong Foundations Home Inspection
Our mission at Strong Foundations Home Inspection is to provide peace of mind to the homeowner and home buyer; to leverage our experience and expertise in order to ensure that you know everything you need to know about your home.
We excel in helping both experienced and first-time home buyers to understand their home better, and to feel comfortable with their surroundings. We will take the time needed to patiently walk a homeowner or buyer through each aspect of their home, from the foundation to the roof and everything in between to ensure familiarity and comfort with the structure and the systems.
For the real estate agent, we understand how important it is to be honest and trustworthy, but never alarmist. The sky is almost never truly falling. It is not our job to create a sense of fear or to prevent the home from being purchased. Instead, it is our job to inform the client of the home's current condition, while providing practical advice on how to repair or maintain the home going forward. Making sure the customer feels comfortable with the home they are purchasing is the first step toward a successful transaction.
Isaac McPhee - Owner, CEO, Inspector
Isaac McPhee was born and raised in Western Washington. He currently lives in Tacoma with his wife, Katie, daughter, Lucy (7), and sons, Malcolm (4), and Simon (2). Since graduating from Western Washington University in 2003, Isaac spent several years building custom homes and barns, as well as working in the building supplies industry. Prior to becoming a home inspector, Isaac had the privilege of working for the largest commercial real estate company in the world as a commercial real estate appraiser. Isaac has also maintained a specialty contractor license and has often performed handyman/construction services in his spare time.
Isaac has years of experience in inspecting thousands of residential and commercial properties; his inspector training includes classwork from the American Home Inspector Training Institute, continued education and certification from InterNACHI, as well as direct mentorship experienced home inspectors. Isaac is Washington State Licensed (Lic. No. 1411), as well as AHIT and InterNachi certified. He is excited to work with you on your next home inspection.
Lucy McPhee - Marketing Director
Lucy has been working in marketing for most of her life. The only things she loves more than talking about the importance of Home Inspections are animals. She is well known and respected in the “animal impersonation” community for her wide range of lifelike animal sounds. Her rendition of “golden eagle” is particularly noteworthy.
Malcolm McPhee - Inspector’s Assistant
Though the state has been unwilling to cooperate so far, we are working tirelessly to get Malcolm licensed as a home inspector. They seem to think he is unqualified (and underage), but we disagree. He’s been helping his dad work on the home for several years, and absolutely loves working with his tools. It won’t be long until he’s out on the road, doing inspections by himself.
Simon McPhee - Director of Communications
Simon is a master of communication. Just try to get him to stop talking. We dare you.
When he’s not telling stories or jokes or asking questions (and more questions, followed by still more questions), he’s somewhere getting dirty. So, so dirty.
